Workshops

During the sixth edition of the M!CE & Business Travel Fair - powered by Star Alliance, once more a number of highly informative and inspiring workshops will be offered on products and destinations, trends and developments, news from the Business Travel & MICE industry and much more.

You will be able to register for the workshops by logging in   with your username. Apart from these workshops you will also be able to register for the pre-scheduled meetings module. For the plenary sessions there is no need for registering.

10.00 - 10.45  - Preworkshop Grip on Meetings & Events

More depth will be given to the managing of meetings in the broadest sense of the word: Meetingselect, Airplus International and MobileXpsense have combined forces and launched the very first unique End-to_end Meeting Management solution. From now on it will be much easier to plan meetings, select locations and to make transactions. In other words: it will be much easier to really control costs!

During this workshop many answers will be given regarding issues that Meeting planners, buyers, travel managers and CFOs have to deal with.

During this session Sasja van As will discuss the developments and chances for the business travel industry with 3 players that are active in the area of business travels.

11.30 - 12.00 - Plenary session: Rob Kok - BTW Nederland
Rob Kok gives an insight in the tax issues that are currently raising controversy.

12.00 - 12.20 & 14.30 - 14.50  - Star Alliance Business Solutions and MICE Products
A short workshop of Star Alliance in which their MICE products will be discussed further.

12.00 - 12.20 - Get familiar with MICE in Suriname ! Surprisingly feel good!

13.40 - 14.00 uur -  Green, active and healthy meetings & business travels to Slovenia
The Slovenian meetings industry has a strong focus on making sure that they will become completely sustainable, environmentaly and culturally aware. Apart from this the use of the natural surroundings and the already available spa facilities are of added value for meetings & incentives. The Slovenian tourist office supports this initiative and will give the Dutch MICE and business travel professionals an insight. Two of the participants of the workshop will experience the benefits of the Slovenian "green" hospitality as they will be able to leave the workshop at the end with a return ticket Ljubljana with Adria Airways, a rental car and 3 nights in tophotels!

13.40 - 14.00 - LAN: The airline expert in South America
LAN Airlines, the leading South American airline, will launch in the context of MICE Fair a workshop, that will start with a corporate introduction of the company, followed by the testimonial of two participants in our last Peruvian FAM trip, and finally there will be a prize draw of two tickets -economy class- to Peru!

14.05 - 14.25 - Costa del Sol: Happy sun that makes meetings warmer

The Costa del Sol has decided to become a space for the creation of new ideas, capable of bringing together big multinationals and small companies in a cost-effective balance, where the professional environment, institutions and the university go hand in hand. During this workshop the participants will learn about the innovative value the Costa del Sol has as a destination for Meetings and Events, with it's important infrastructure network, including 4 conference centres, 25 convention centres and the highest concentration of luxury hotels in Spain. The  bright sun provides the opportunity to hold professional events outdoors and improves the chances of the meeting attendees to enjoy their free time with nature activities. Especially considering the vast array of quaint whitewashed villages surrounded by natural wonders, some of them declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.  Not to forget the gastronomy, culture, fiestas and monuments that shape the Costa del Sol.

14.30 - 14.50 - What makes your incentive unique?
A workshop in which travelmediate will shed more light on which USP to use with the sale of incentives. This workshop is open for anyone, but has a special focus on independent travel advisors whom will sell more incentives and group travels.  

14.55 - 15.15 - Skyteam
Workshop of the airline alliance Skyteam that will deal with the MICE and group travel options.

16.00 - 16.20 - No more boring meetings!

In 2003 the first steps were made towards changing the old way we do meetings: Meetovation. During the workshop of Visit Denmark you will experience how Meetovation will change the way you and your clients do meetings. Return on Meeting Investment (RoMI) is key. This is being achieved through a combination of unique and original surroundings and local ingredients. The feeling of authenticity will help the participants to open themselves up, this will make it easier for them to remember what they are working on. This makes Meetovation meetings and events both efficient and durable.

16.00 - 16.20 - Suriname, untouched and hospitable

Surinam is a surprisingly versatile destination with an enchanting beautiful Amazon rainforest and a hospitable multicultural population.  The Surinamese inland with her impetuous rivers, impressive currents and unprecedented plants and wildlife, is hard to enter and has as of yet not been discovered by mass-tourism. Due to the recent growth in available hotel rooms and professional facilities Suriname has laid the foundations for a succesful MICE-industry. During this presentation, the leading MICE company of Suriname will not only show the beauty of the country, but also an incentive programme of which multiple international incentive houses are  enthousiastic about.
